The Treatment

During your treatment, the GentleLASE Plus™ System emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the targeted hair follicle where it is absorbed. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which destroys the hair follicle without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin. Most visible hairs vanish immediately. Over a period of 10 to 14 days, the remaining hair disappears.

The procedure can take as little as 10 to 15 minutes depending on the area treated. Underarms, bikini and facial areas can be completed in a series of 15 minute sessions. Legs, backs and larger areas can take one to two hours.

The Results

Hair grows in three cycles and effective treatment occurs when hair is in its active growth cycle. Therefore, several treatments are required to catch the hair in the proper cycle.

Precautions

• You will be given safety eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser light during the procedure.
• A test area may be required prior to the entire treatment.
• The treated area may become pink or red following treatment. This may last from a few minutes to several days.
• Avoid the sun 4-6 weeks before and after treatment.
• Avoid electrolysis, plucking or waxing hair for 3 weeks prior to treatment.
• If you have a dark skin type, a bleaching cream may be started 4-6 weeks before treatment to optimize results.
